After viewing news websites that consist of The New York Times, The Daily Orange, and The Westfield High School Hi's Eye, they have a number of similartites. For example, the Hi's Eye and the Daily Orange have a ribbon on the top of the page constsitng of Sports, News, Features, ect, while the New York Times has a menu on the left hand side of the page to navigate through the website. The New York Times
and the Hi's Eye have RSS feeds. The New York Times and the Hi's Eye have the date listed at the top of the page. Daily Orange and Hi's Eye has a slideshow in the openeing window while the New York Times displays the most recent articles. All of the websites have advertisments on the right hand side of the site, and all three websites have a search bar at the top of the home page. Out of all three websites, the New York Times has the most text on the home page.

I am going to compare Ellie's blog to a blog on nj.com about Westfield Girls Lacrosse. Ellie's blog is about Freshman girls lax, which nj.com does not give information about. Nj.com only gives information about the Varsity team. Others may be interested in how the freshman team's season is going. Also, Ellie gives records for the freshman team and schedualing, but nj.com gives records of all the teams in the division. The blog about the freshman lax is centered around their team, where as nj.com blog's are based on all the teams in the division. So if you're interested in how the Freshman Westfield Girls Lax season is going, check out Ellies blog! If you want info on varsity and the division, check out the link below.

Varsity won against Morris Knolls on Friday the 13th! The final score was 15-12. The team has been featured a lot in the sports section of the Star Ledger. There's an article about this Morris Knolls game in the latest issue if you aree more interested in contributors and stats of the game. Also, nj.com has lots of information. Today we have a game home against West Essex. West Essex has a 5-3 record which beats Westfield's, but our coach thinks we have a good shot at beating them. Keep you updated!

This video is the Northwestern Wildcats vs. the Maryland Terrapins in the 2011 NCAA National Championship for Womens Lacrosse. This clip shows the intensity of college lacrosse. Westfield Girls Varisty aims to bring up the intensity level of their game. This is a good example of the kind of level the Varsity team wants to reach.

Useful Blogs
This blog includes all of the teams records in the division which I think is an excelent resorce. It also includes some of the previous game records, and future predictions for the team finalists. Deeper into the blog you can find stats on all players of the teams, news, and posts about team's strategies. This also includes all the teams game scheduals which is useful. If you are looking to compare different teams, this is the blog to use!
